Volunteer

Volunteering can be a rewarding way to spend some time, a great way to meet new people and experience different parts of the SCA.

 

Don’t forget that we are an entirely volunteer based not-for-profit organization and without volunteers we wouldn't be able to put on events, practices, classes or anyhing!

Silk screening Wed June 25th 5:30 on at the Cunliffe House (East end of Riverside park downtown)
If you can help out for a bit please wear clothes that can get paint on them.

Largess making.
The Shire is hosting Two sets of Royals, The Princes and Princess of Avacal and The Prince and Princess of Tir Righ, as well as several Barons and Baronesses. Please donate period goods that we as a shire can gift these guests.
 
Their Royal Highnesses Owain and Wrenn are also looking for largess. Here are some examples of what tey are looking for:
  • Arms or armor
  • Pouches, small bags
  • Clearly labeled handmade herbal soaps or bath salts
  • Fabric, trim, buttons
  • Haversacks 
  • Handmade fans
  • Hats, veils or hoods
  • Illuminated note cards
  • Jewelry, semi precious stones or lampwork beads
  • Period games or gameboards
  • Scroll blanks for Kingdom awards or illuminated borders
  • Sewing kits in small pouches
  • Small boxes
  • Small journals or books
  • Table linens
  • Wooden toys

Set up crew:

Mark out roads, paths, camps

 

Clear War field of debris

 

Lay out Parking lot

 

Ensure water is available on site (hose etc)

 

Stone Soup

We need someone who likes to visit and stay up late to welcome our travel tired friends and offer them some soup, as well as to keep the pot full of yummy things.

 

Gate Crew

Greet everyone as they arrive and

-sign them in

-check them off on the Pre Reg sheet and complete any undone paper work

 

T Shirts?

 

Control who comes into the event (other campers etc) arrange guided tours several times a day

 

Tour Guides

Depending on demand we’d like to have several guided tours over the weekend for folks staying at the ranch.

 

Garbage Collection

There is a black bear near site so we need to be aware of our trash. Saturday afternoon (about 2 pm) We’ll need someone with a truck to do a trash run (the dump is just up the road)

 

 Archery

Marshals and set up crew for target archery

 

Combat Archery

Marshals will be needed

 

Rapier ‘

Marshals will be needed.

Water bearers

 

Heavy Push Battle

Someone to build a relict- it should be fairly easy for two people wearing gauntlets to pick up and be safe to have on a war field.

We will need several chirurgeons for the weekend

We’ll need judges for the siege challenges

 

People to had out and collect the challenge bundles

We need several folks to head up the volunteer sign up, give out the draw tickets etc
